If you’ve spent any time downtown in the last few years you will have noticed that Lansing is experiencing an urban renewal.  Private developers are adding high-end apartments and condominiums to the Lansing market.  Most are taking the shape of lofts or row-houses designed to appeal young professionals who want a taste of urban life previously unavailable in the capitol city.

Lofts and rowhouses are available to purchase or rent in several different developments.  Here are links to some developments you might be interested in checking out:

My favorite new downtown development has to be Printer’s RowIn the interest of full disclosure I will admit that Printer’s Row is represented by my brokerage, Tomie Raines, but that isn’t why I love it.  These Chicago-style row-houses are being constructed with real attention to detail and an eye toward energy efficiency.  High ceilings, chunky moldings and high-end finishes fill these condos with character that appeals to me.  Last time I checked there were still a few available so you can see them and decide for yourself.

If you do decide to live downtown you won’t be bored.  More restaurants, bars, gyms and shops are opening all the time.  Watch for 20 new condos in The Stadium District to be completed across from Oldsmobile Park
